Markets Rebound as Investors Buy the Dip

Between September 22 and September 29, U.S. stocks regained ground after a volatile stretch, with investors stepping back in following the prior week’s Fed-driven selloff.

Early weakness gave way to strength midweek as dip buyers returned, supported by solid economic data and easing Treasury yields. Technology and communication stocks led the recovery, helping the Nasdaq notch its best weekly performance in over a month. The S&P 500 gained roughly 1.3%, while energy stocks slipped as oil prices cooled after a sharp summer run-up.

Market strategists pointed to a healthy reset rather than a shift in trend. With inflation continuing to edge lower and earnings holding steady, investors appear comfortable maintaining exposure heading into the final quarter of the year. While policy uncertainty lingers, sentiment has firmed — a sign that confidence in the market’s long-term trajectory remains intact.
